Winter Shelter Resident Coordinator (24 hrs./week)

Springs Rescue Mission is seeking to hire four Winter Shelter Resident Coordinators for a period from October 25, 2014 to April 15, 2016. Shifts available include 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. weekdays and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. weekends, up to 24 hours per week. The Coordinators will ensure a safe environment and smooth operation of the Springs Rescue Mission Winter Shelter, interact with overnight guests in the shelter environment, and provide hospitality with compassion while being firm in enforcing the guidelines for operations that are safe and secure for all.

Outreach Resource Advocate

The Outreach Resource Advocate is a 20 hr/wk position that provides initial contact and interaction with homeless guests of Springs Rescue Mission who have been reluctant or unable to make connection with a Resource Advocate in other ways. The Outreach Advocate will work in public areas of the Mission including the parking lot and Samaritan’s Kitchen areas to reach guests who do not regularly access the Resource Advocate Program. The Outreach Advocate will utilize skills of motivational interviewing and compassionate caring to create situations in which reluctant guests can be engaged. The Outreach Advocate will provide direct case management and advocacy services in a variety of locations to enable homeless guests of Springs Rescue Mission to complete their personal journey off the streets and into permanent housing.

Those we serve often have serious mental illness, substance abuse and physical disabilities and benefit from frequent contact with a compassionate advocate. Advocates help our guests articulate desire for change, plan change and execute the steps to become permanently housed and stable members of our community.

Mission Inn Manager

The Mission Inn Manager is a part-time position that exists to ensure that each resident adheres to the spirit and purposes of the Mission Inn by upholding their lease agreement and attending a 12-step group. This function makes sure that rents are paid and vacancies are filled in a timely manner. Position also serves as a steward of the property and has the responsibility to oversee SRM’s assets, maintaining the building and units accordingly. BFOQ -- In light of this position’s duties and responsibility with graduates of the NLP Addiction Recovery Program, male gender is a bona fide occupational qualification for this position.

Donations Driver

SRM is seeking to hire a part-time (25 hrs/wk) Donations Driver. Under the supervision and direction of the Donations Driver Coordinator, the Donations Driver will safely and courteously pick up and deliver perishable and non-perishable Gift In Kind (GIK) items from designated donors and deliver to Springs Rescue Mission (SRM), as well as deliver such items to partnering agencies and clients from SRM. Additional transportation duties as may be required by the Donations Driver Coordinator.

Facilities Technician

Springs Rescue Mission is seeking to fill a part-time (25 hrs/wk) position as Facilities Technician. Hours will be Tuesday-Saturday weekly 10:00 am-4:00 pm.

The Facilities Technician is responsible to maintain safe, secure, and clean facilities in compliance with established standards and requirements. Ensure preventative and on-going maintenance and repairs of SRM buildings, properties, equipment and campus. Knowledge in construction and provide hands-on as well as oversight of various construction projects which includes the management of volunteers.
