Life Changing Recovery
New
Life Men's Program
This
one-year residential recovery program serves men suffering from chronic alcoholism, drug addiction or
those having difficulty functioning in society due to a lack of life skills.
The benefits
gained from the New Life Program are numerous. Through implementation of
spiritual and instructional tools each individual is educated in key areas of
essential life skills. Springs Rescue Mission tracks the progress of program
participants in several ways:
Attendance is required for more than 500 hours per year of formal, classroom education.
Men earn increased privileges as they progress through the program, learning appropriate tools of responsibility and community interaction.
Ongoing one-on-one case management sessions to establish and meet personal and professional goals, and provide spiritual and cognitive counseling.
Career training: Residents receive the challenge to make job retention their top priority once they've taken the necessary steps toward self-sustainability.
The New Life Program has
been an integral part of Springs Rescue Mission since 1996. In the last five
years, more than 300 men have fought their addictions, learned essential life
skills and pursued the path to self-sufficiency through the New Life Program.

Meals and Food Program
Samaritan's
Kitchen
Springs Rescue Mission provides hot
nutritious meals to the homeless and hungry, a monthly food box program for
poor families, and a Culinary Arts vocational training program.
A Message and a Meal. Six days a week, Monday through Saturday, at 5 pm Samaritans Kitchen opens its doors to the homeless, working poor, and families with children - anyone who needs a meal. Along with serving a hot meal in a cafeteria style setting, the hungry of Colorado Springs can also listen to a Gospel message from one of the local churches scheduled for the evening.
Monthly Food Box Program. Once a month struggling families can come and receive food boxes with all the ingredients to prepare meals at home. During the holidays, they also receive additional prep ingredients to enjoy a holiday meal at home and together as a family.
Culinary Arts Program. Samaritans
Kitchen also offers a 6 month and 2 year program in the Culinary Arts. American Culinary Federation (ACF)
Certified and locally supervised by Pikes Peak Community College, participants
can pursue a career in professional cooking as they learn the skills necessary
to become a world class chef. ACF certificates of completion are awarded
upon graduation.
Other services provided include:
- Summer lunch programs for underprivileged children
