Program Overview

Welcome to the men's New Life Program (NLP). We are glad that you are interested in this unique spiritual program and look forward to working closely with you to help provide structure during the changes that will take place in your life. God has great things in store for those who seek him and follow after him.

We at Springs Rescue Mission believe that you would not have sought this program unless you were desperately seeking a life-changing experience. This program provides you with an opportunity to begin living a christ-centered life. The commitment you make will cause a change in your life through structure, discipline and the application of God's Word. It is never enough to just "talk the talk." we must learn to "walk the walk."

The 5 Components of the New Life Program are:

The 5 components of our unique New Life Program are: Spiritual, Educational, Vocational training/work therapy, Behavioral/life skills, and Case management/counseling.

1. Spiritual

True transformation in a person's life begins with renewal in the soul through a dynamic, personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Every day starts with devotions and worship, which is followed by two 45 minute classes of either expository Bible teaching or behavior and life skills classes. When men leave the Mission, they have a good biblical foundation.

2. Educational

What does it profit a man if he comes into a relationship with Christ but he can't make change, write a complete sentence, or explain a thought to completion? We have a very strong career advancement center (CAC) that each man is required to attend 5 days a week. He is given national standardized tests to assess his level in reading, math and comprehension, and is given a customized curriculum based on his proficiency. Graduation from the NLP is not attained until they reach 9th grade proficiency in all subjects and obtain their GED if they don't have one. Each man learns to write his own resume, receives training in job interviewing, as well as career and employment education and coaching.

3. Work Therapy (WT) and (VT) Vocational Training

Most men with addictions have not been able to keep a job for more than two years. There are reasons for this. Our work therapy (WT) component, which constitutes volunteer hours, teaches men basic and important life skills, following directions, punctuality, working with others, submitting to authority, finishing a job to completion, resolving work conflict issues, and developing solid work ethics and habits. Our vocational training (VT) provides skills to open more opportunities for men to start on an exciting career path.

4. Behavioral/Life Skills

This component teaches men skills needed to succeed in life after he leaves the program: education in basic and advanced Bible classes; treatment and classes in personal financial management, anger management, conflict resolution, boundaries, domestic violence, relationship development and successful parenting (with wife, kids, friends, co-workers), level I, II, and III drug and alcohol education and treatment, addiction relapse recovery, healthy sexuality, freedom from sexual addictions, nutrition and diet, healthy eating behaviors, smoking cessation, recreation, alcoholics victorious meetings.

5. Case Management/Counseling

Men learn to set goals/objectives and action plans - short, mid, and long-term. Continued care plans along with coaching and case management - which are designed to produce practical steps towards achieving progress in life goals and establish a blueprint of self-care and Christian discipline. Individual and group counseling is provided that includes pastoral, spiritual, emotional, clinical and relapse prevention that works through and helps unravel experiences that continue to devastate residents. Learning to address issues of abuse, abandonment, and addictions - the pastoral and clinical staff offers long-term solutions of restoration and healing for a future of wholeness and hope.

Targeted Goals of the New Life Program:
